General Guidelines

Please group publications in chronological order (earliest to most recent) under the headings/categories given below and follow the general style guidelines and format as per example given for each publication type.

For all publication types, authorship is first element and year of publication is last element, and capitalisation and punctuation are minimal.

Title of Books, Book Size Volumes in Special Series, Published Conference Proceedings, Journals and Whole Working Paper and Discussion Paper Titles -italics and initial caps for main words
Title of actual conference - plain and initial caps for main words
Title of special series of books -- plain and initial caps for main words
Working Paper or Discussion Paper Series Title -- plain and initial caps for main words
All other titles - eg chapter titles, journal article titles, titles of substantial papers in conference proceedings or in large working papers or discussion papers, - plain and lower case except for initial caps for first word in title and for proper nouns

Punctuation

no full stops
no double quotation marks
comma used throughout to separate main elements of a reference
parentheses used only to enclose ed, eds, issue number of a journal or special explanations/comments,
colon used only if part of a title-- eg to separate main and sub title
single quotation marks used only to set off special words or expression(s) in a title)

Abbreviations

for edited volumes -- single editor (ed); multiple editors (eds)
Vol - used only to refer to a book size volume in a special series
No - not used
pp - not used

1. Sole or Joint Authored Books, Edited Books, Chapters in Books, Edited Conference
Proceedings, Full Working Paper or Discussion Papers
omit page numbers and no comma between place and year of publication
2. Journal Articles, Substantial Papers in Conference Proceedings and in large working papers/discussion papers
give page numbers followed by comma, space and year of publication
