Happy New Year

Happy New Year 2009. We've had many new people express interest in the site - particularly from New Zealand and places further afield. We continue to be an inclusive group of scholars from academic, practical and independent backgrounds, from a wide range of disciplines and from all over the world. Everyone is welcome.

One of the highlights of the forthcoming year is the first World Congress in Environmental History, to be held in Copenhagen (4-8 August) hosted by Roskilde University (Denmark) and Malmö University (Sweden). The Australian and New Zealand Environmental History Network is one of its sponsors, and I recommend it to anyone who can make the journey. Details: http://wceh2009.org/.

Another is the seminar by Alan Williams - on 26 March 2009 in Canberra (details at http://fennerschool.anu.edu.au/news_events/seminars/2009/williamsa_mar2009.php.

If you would like to join the network e-mail us at libby.robin@anu.edu.au or cameron.muir@anu.edu.au.

With best wishes,
Libby Robin (convenor).
