Please note: the data for these two maps
were collected differently so direct comparison should be
made with caution. There is, however, evidence that mynas
are spreading out from urban areas into more rural settings.
To the north of the ACT Common Indian Mynas are now spreading
into habitat occupied by the threatened Superb Parrot, Polytelis

In the year 2000 Common Indian Mynas were the most commonly
recorded feral bird in Canberra – in the same year the
Common Indian Myna was listed by the World Conservation Union
(IUCN) as one of the World’s 100 Worst Invasive Species http://www.issg.org
